4) Violation of state laws by claiming three primary residences and breaking New York City regulations by maintaining four rent-controlled apartments,

5) Violation of House rules by using congressional letterhead to solicit donations for an education center bearing his name at City College of New York, and

6) Delinquency in paying his property taxes on two New Jersey parcels and failure to report the sale of a $1.3 million brownstone.

Pelosi has faced increasing pressure to take action as each new allegation has surfaced. She initially predicted that the committee would wrap up its work by the end of last year. Instead, the panel, which traditionally operates in secret, has twice expanded the investigation to include new allegations and has continued the probe for nearly a year and a half without any determination.

How many more years will it take before a determination has finally been made?

The Congressional Black Caucus is as meaningless and as big of a joke as the Nobel Prize has become . Does anyone have any convictions or a sense of morality, truth and justice anymore ? Does anyone on the left stand for anything but for themselves anymore ? This is pure selfishness and petty greed on their part .

Charlie Rangel is a tax evader. A tax cheat. And yet the Democrats successfully killed a resolution that would have removed him as Chairman of the House Ways and Means committee.

"many members" of Congress suffer from the same issues as Charlie Rangel. What affliction is that? The inability to follow the law? We get punished for that stuff … why not Rangel? The Republicans want to remove the guy as chairman, but the Democrats vote against it. Now THAT is transparency. THAT is change you can believe in! – Right?

It is kind of reminiscent of the house banking scandal of which check writing Charlie was also a payer, they are all crooks covering each other is what is up,, we have the congressional mafia in government and need to vote them all out!

If you could live anywhere and price was not option, where would it be? What kind of place would you live in?

For example, I would either one of these if I had the chance:

A large (4000+ sq ft) Penthouse in Monaco. An exotic locale in easy distance of some of the world’s most cosmopolitan cities as well as the Monte Carlo Casino, the Mediterranean Sea and French Riviera.

A Frank Lloyd Wright-style villa on a vast expanse (100+ acres) of New Hampshire woodland with a lake. Think Fallingwater near Bear Run, Penn. Plenty of room to roam and do whatever I please.

Thats tough. Honestly Ive always wanted to live in a suite in a Las Vegas casino haha. Id also enjoy some sort of penthouse or something in Tokyo or NY.

Indianapolis —
Eight people have been charged by federal agents during an investigation into a methamphetamine ring in Indianapolis. At a news conference Thursday morning, U.S. Attorney Joe Hogsett said 27 guns were seized along with three pounds of meth and nearly $34,000.

Hogsett called the bust "historic" and "the dismantling of a major narcotics trafficking operation."

Among the firearms seized were 9mm assault pistols, SKS-type assault rifles and a 9mm MAC 10 along with hundreds of rounds of ammunition. The drug trafficking organization operated primarily in the Indianapolis area. The arrests were made on March 1st, 2011 in Marion and Hamilton Counties by DEA agents and members of the Metro Drug Task Force.

In addition to the six people arrested on federal charges, two other were arrested on state charges. Four children, including an infant were taken into custody by Child Protective Services. According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, the arrests were the result of a two-month long investigation.

The eight arrested are charged with conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute methamphetamine.

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — An Arizona-style proposal to crack down on illegal immigration has sparked protests from convention groups who say they’ll avoid Indianapolis if the measure becomes law.
The Presbyterian Church’s Bi-Annual Conference has notified the Indianapolis Convention & Visitors Association that it will not hold its July conference here as scheduled if the proposed law takes effect, The Indianapolis Star reported.

Another group says it would avoid Indianapolis in the future if the bill passes.

"It’s a stupid law," said Jerry Powell, president of Portland, Ore.-based Resource Recycling, which has an August conference planned in Indianapolis.

Republican Sen. Mike Delph’s bill would require state and local police to ask a person they have stopped for a violation for proof of legal residence if the officer has a "reasonable suspicion" the person is not a citizen or is in the country illegally. It also contains penalties for businesses that hire illegal immigrants.

Powell said his conferences typically draw about 50 Hispanics among an average of 1,200 attendees.

"I’m not going to have them harassed by an ethnicity filter," he said.
